Curious as to whether this effects Title 9? Are there any plans to replace it with another sport, say men's soccer?

It wouldn't affect it since both a men's and women's team was dropped but also it's not an official NCAA sport, so I don't know how those rules would apply.

I think Troy has had a bass fishing team in the past. But unfortunately along with the rodeo it is not an NCAA sport.
I would love to see a new sport at Troy. The facts are the school is growing and I believe we are in need of something new.

We have a wonderful Arena for some indoor sports. Gymnastics, wrestling, maybe even hockey yes hockey imagine having a hockey team in southeast Alabama and how that could be at level of interest for athletes/fans across the country maybe international. The sheer curiosity of the sport would probably put people in the stands.

With soccer being such an international sport and us being such an international school I don't understand why we don't have mens soccer already or even Lacrosse.

At least we could have a swimming team. There are several schools in the Sunbelt that have one. I'm not sure if the sun belt has swimming as a sport anymore but it would be fun to have it

Men's soccer is the logical choice. Collegiate wrestling is not that big in the south for some reason and lacrosse in the south is still in its infancy. Would like to see us add a sport or two.

Take the money saved and throw it at the endzone building.

If you don't believe it, you can't achieve it.

    Unhappy

Sad news. I learned today that the Rodeo Program was an $800,000 drain on the athletics budget LY.

$800 grand /19 students ~$42,100 per head. The numbers are hard to swallow.
