I wouldn't put a donation past, but SOTS doesn't travel with 425, or is that just the number of seats in a whole section, or two? I know we only have about 350 with directors and drivers, probably less than that actually, I've never really understood how it's determined how many tickets are needed.

The last few years, more priority has been placed on sending the band to conference games than the big games. Those conference games are actually more important for us since it's vital to win to get a conference championship.

Each conference has different rules for visiting bands. From what I have been told by a university band director, the SEC requires all non-conference bands to purchase a minimum of 500 tickets. The SunBelt, however, does not make visiting bands purchase tickets.

You have to buy more tickets because one cannot sit in the allotted seat space with a sousaphone, or a bass drum, or a tenor drum etc on in playing position. Therefore, you have to allot space for the larger instruments meaning the purchase of more tickets than actual members of the band.

I knew you had to buy more, I just didn't realize it'd be a hundred more

    TENTATIVE Schedule for SOTS 2013

Director of bands talked with Director of choirs regarding the SOTS fall schedule this past week. (Some band students are in a university choir and they make sure that performances/trips do not coincide.) All choir students were given a choir schedule for this fall that included band dates.

Please remember that this is a TENTATIVE schedule.

Home games are FULL BAND, of course.

    8/31/2013 vs UAB
9/7/2013 vs Savannah State - BAND DAY
9/12/2013 at Arkansas State - PEP BAND
9/21/2013 at Mississippi State - FULL BAND
9/28/2013 at Duke - NO BAND (marching festival performance)
10/5/2013 vs South Alabama - HOMECOMING
10/12/2013 at Georgia State - FULL BAND
10/26/2013 at Western Kentucky - PEP BAND
    10/31/2013 vs ULM
11/7/2013 at Louisiana-Lafayette - FULL OR PEP BAND (depending on funds)
11/16/2013 at Ole Miss - NO BAND (free weekend for band members)
    11/29/2013 vs Texas State

You haven't looked at a calendar yet, have you? October 31st is a Thursday and that is one of several non-Saturday games Troy has scheduled this year.

And don't forget that TXST is on Black Friday. There are no more Saturday home games after October 5th. Our home game schedule sucks this year.
