I'm watching the DII national title game on ESPN2 right now between Valdosta and NW Missouri. Valdosta runs a no-huddle, wide-open, spread passing attack. VSU even has a Troy transfer on this current team who is one of their offensive standouts. They go 5-wide on every play.

Maybe Blakeney could look at hiring Valdosta's offensive coordinator to take over for Franklin.

Nevermind - I just looked at VSU's website and from what I can tell, the head coach is also the OC.

will be Neal Brown.

From Drews Blog:
"Troy inside receivers coach Neal Brown is pretty much his right-hand man"

Anyone else have thoughts on this.

If that's the case, then that's fine with me. That would hopefully ensure stability and chemistry from a player/coach standpoint.

I have been thinking about that as well. If Neal Brown doesn't become the next OC he may be at AU with TF because he is his right hand man.

That's my most immediate concern as well. I think the way it falls out is this;

1. Neal Brown is OC, we lose Shayne Wasden to AU.
2. Shayne is OC, we lose Neal to AU.
3. Neal and Shayne Co-OC, we keep them both for 1 year and then lose one next year.

I hope for scenario #3.
