I have always thought Maestri was a good coach who put the guys in a position to win. Last night was not his best performance. Believe it or not, it is okay to play man defense once in a while (particularly when we have superior athletes). But it was not all his fault. Our guys seemed to play most of the night with no heart. They didn't rebound, they didn't play defense, they didn't battle in the paint. Dixon would penetrate and then when he wanted to dish it to somebody they were all standing behind the arc. I miss guys like Millhouse and Pettway who weren't concerned with stats, only with doing the little things it takes to win. And how is J. Lee getting more playing time than Zavier. He brings absolutley nothing to the team.

Let them get through December before you start bashing. They are young and in this damn league they only need to win four in a row in Feb. to make it to the show! So, take a dart in the neck and calm down. Give them a few weeks before you start looking for Vald the Impaler!

In this league you have to win some games to be in the conference tournament. Only 8 teams play in the tourney and there are 11 teams in the conference. Right now we are in 11th place. We just lost at home to the team that many picked to finish last in the conference. I am by no means giving up on this team or saying that all hope is lost. I am saying that this team has a long way to go before being competitive in this league. Chemistry develops over time but effort should always be there. Right now I don't see enough effort playing defnse and rebounding. This team can be good and compete in this league.
