Unicel To Distribute Commemorative Footballs At Movie Gallery Stadium

TROY, Ala. – This Saturday at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium on the campus of Troy University will be a
historic day in the history of Trojans football.

When the Trojans host Utah State in a game scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff, it will be the first Division I-A
home conference game in the history of Troy football. The Trojans (2-2, 0-1) need a victory over the visiting Aggies
(2-2, 1-0) in order to stay in the race for the 2004 Sun Belt Conference title and a berth in the Wyndham New
Orleans Bowl.

The game is being televised as the Sun Belt Game of the Week with Sam Smith, Girardie Mercer and Sharon
Thorsland handling the call of the game. Fans in Alabama can watch the game on UPN 67 in Montgomery as well as
Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.

Fans at Movie Gallery Stadium will have an opportunity to take advantage of two extra treats. The first 700
kids, age 12 and younger, will receive a commemorative football marking the first home Sun Belt Conference game in
Troy history. The game ball give-away is sponsored by Unicel and WAKA-TV.

All Troy fans will also get to see the largest marching band performance in the south when 32 high school
bands join with the Sound of the South for a gala halftime performance.

The bands that are scheduled to join the Sound of the South include: Brantley High School, Clarke County
High School, Cordova High School, Cottondale High School, Cullman High School, Dale County High School,
Daleville High School, Elmore County High School, Escambia County High School, Everitt Middle School, Frisco
City High School, Geneva High School, Goshen High School, Graceville High School, Headland High School,
Houston Academy, Luverne High School, Miller High School, New Brockton High School, Notasulga High School,
Opp High School, Prattville High School, Reeltown Jr/Sr. High School, S. Walton High School, Samson High
School, Slocomb High School, Sneads High School, Tarrant High School, Tri-County High School, Vincent Middle
School and West End High School.

More than 2,100 performers are expected to take the field for the halftime show.

Despite all of the activities, the
Trojans must put consecutive road losses behind them. The Aggies come in
having alternated wins and losses through the first four games. They defeated Idaho in their first league game of the
year and are coming off a 31-21 non-conference victory at UNLV.

The Aggies also come in off a game in which they forced UNLV into five turnovers, including four
interceptions. Robert Watts returned one of his two picks in the game 90 yards for a touchdown to give Utah State
the lead for good.

For the second time in as many weeks, Troy used two quarterbacks in the game at South Carolina. Starter
Aaron Leak threw for 108 yards and ran for 23 more while freshman D.T. McDowell was 0-for-2 passing, but ran
for 28 yards on four carries.

Senior DeWhitt Betterson will likely be the focal point for the Utah State defense. Last year Betterson ripped
the Aggies for a career day, piling up 230 yards on 46 carries.

Betterson currently ranks third on the Trojans’ all-time
career rushing list, and needs just 72 more yards to move past Mike Turk into second place on that list. The Aggies
have allowed 219 yards rushing per game this year and rank 97th in the nation in rush defense.

Man, I worked for that company a long time ago when they were CellularONE. I still have good friends that work there, including one guy who is a cell-site engineer. He makes VERY good money.
