Wow... that shocks me I thought there would be around 20-30,000.

Thanks,

30,000? That's nearly 1/3 of the total alumni of Troy University....no way it's that high!

That does sound awfully low.

I would think there are that many in the Central Florida area.

That does sound awfully low. From my four years in Troy and the group of people I know there are about 25 plus the occasional alumni I run into in the Bham area. I am sure that that number is low.

There's no way it's that low. I would guess closer to 5000-10000.

Just off the top of my head, I had about a dozen or so co-workers that were Troy Alumni. And that is just in one business in Birmingham. I've seen a couple of Troy car tags at the office building I work in now. I'm sure there's more than 1500.

Yeah it has to be higher than 1500. Maybe someone from the B'ham alumni chapter has an estimate?

I am actually the past president of the Bham Chapter and that was approx the number two years ago.

I would guess it's hard to tell by the numbers of the B'ham chapter of the Alumni Association....not defending it, but there are probably many who don't sign up for the alumni association.

10,000 Troy alumni in the BHam area? Seriously?

No way.. I would think the 1500 number is closer considering a past president said so... Estimations are in no way as accurate as someone who actually worked in the area.

The 1,500 is pretty close to accurate. Chapters are able to find out the number of alumni in a given area, whether they are alumni association members or not. For instance, here in the Florida Panhandle, we have listed about 5,000 (Pensacola to Panama City, which is over 5,000 square miles), but that includes everyone who had an address here, including military, and upon moving/rotating out, never left a forwarding address or APO.
