Troy Announces New Assistant Director of Athletics
TROY, Ala. – The Troy University Department of Athletics has promoted Wes Allen to Assistant Director of Athletics- Development as announced on Thursday.
In this position, Allen will organize and direct the fundraising efforts of the athletics department. He will also oversee the directors of major gifts and annual giving.
His responsibilities will also include major donations, Trojan Warrior Annual Fund, private fund raising campaigns and act as an ambassador of Troy University and the Athletics Department.
Allen previously served as the Director of Development/Major Gifts for the last three years before assuming this new position.
Allen came to Troy after serving as the Assistant Director of Marketing, Promotions and Trademark Licensing at the University of Alabama. He earned his bachelor’s in athletic administration in 1998 at the University of Alabama where he played football from 1996-98.
Allen returned to Troy as a member of the athletics department after earning his masters in foundations of education from Troy University in 2001.
“We are excited about Wes Allen’s experience within the athletics department. We are looking forward to having a three person office that is doing everything to cultivate donors and raise money for Troy athletics,” Director of Athletics Steve Dennis said.
