Most of the WKU fans don't think that Troy should be in the Sun Belt. One fan said that bringing us to the Sun Belt has watered down the league. I guess we'll have to put an ass whipping on these guys come Thursday.

Right now they are right! We don't belong in the league! We will recruit and get bigger and better players as a result of being in the SBC for Basketball. Our game will step up and we will eventually be in the running for a conference championship. If they were to tell the truth they are scared of what Troy can and will become in the basketball side of the conference. Lets face it we are and have always been a football minded school but I am ready for the basketball world's eyes to be opened to Trojan Basketball. Go Troy and Beat WKU please if for nothing else but to shut them up.

It's funny because their confident attitudes that they will beat us doesn't match up with what appears to be some fear. The reason that we are not confident is we do not know which team will show up. We had large wins at UALR and UAB. We also had an overtime loss to UA and we killed A State at home. We also beat UVA at home, but we also have had some games where we did not look very good. If the good team shows up I think it will be a blow out. If the bad team shows up we could get beat. It seams like we have had a good game and then a bad game. Our last game was a good game.

I know we belong in football. That is what I was saying but we have not proven we belong in basketball. I also believe we will show that we belong in every sport. Please don't read into my statement that we don't belong yet that I am saying Troy is undeserving of the opportunity to prove itself in a better basketball league. I think that we play more sports in the SB than any other team. We won by 2 at Ark St. but we won by 26 at home when we played Ark St. the second time. We have not played Vandy this year nor did we play Vandy last year. Please put up or shut up. Show the quote where I said and or implied that we are a great team. You can use any of my posts on any board that I post on. I said that we have played good and we have played bad. As far as our game with Troy it depends which WKU team that shows up. If the good team shows up I think it will be a blow out. If the bad team shows up it will be a dog fight.

You say you won by 2 @ Arky St. but won by 26 at home. well, this is an away game and Troy is better than Arky St., so either way you wanna go with this, it's gonna be close. Not a blowout like you and your Haven fans like to think.

There's a huge difference in the divisions. Sure, WKU might have some good players and even a good first team, but I-A depth would kill WKU almost every time. FIU, one of the SunBelt's struggling football teams (although it did come on late), beat WKU last season.

Also, let me FIRST, say I don't wanna smack talk, I hate smack talk. I am not about that. And if it is the wish of the powers that be on this forum that they prefer other fans don't post, I can respect that and I won't. But I assure you, I don't come to stir anything up. I am always respectful on other boards and even on the WKU board.

Second, let me apologize for some of the comments on the Haven. Let me say that the 20 people that post on there are not a fair representation of our 70,000+ alumni base and thousands more of friends/fans.

You have to understand WKU I guess to understand some of the comments. As much as you guys focus on Football... as much as you look forward to football and pride yourself on football, so does WKU pride and focus on Basketball. WKU joined the Sun Belt in 1983 when it was a BASKETBALL conference... that was the focus of every member in the conference. It was not a I-A Conference I think until 2000. SO... for some fans it is frustrating to see some decisions made on the basis of football and not basketball. And, considering the lack of success Troy has had in Basketball over the longterm, some could see (and I think you all could agree) Troy was brought in to help Football not basketball.

Please, don't read everything on the Haven and take it personally or think it is the opinion of all fans.

Apology accepted galojay, but i don't agree with you about Troy being brought into the Sun Belt just for Football. Troy has had some good seasons in basketball, are always good at baseball and softball, and pretty decent at tennis. Troy will offer alot in the future, especially in basketball.

I mean, this is Troy's first year in Sun Belt after leaving the Atlantic Sun Conference, and they arew not doing too bad. So don't put them down in their first year in the SBC. Just give them a year or two, and i guarantee, Troy will be a contender for the Sun Belt title. ;)

OK I was wrong and I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. Even if Troy only wins half of their remaining conference games (I think they'll do much better than that!) this win against WKU proves that Troy not only belongs but can play for the conference championship.
