I started looking for Hotel in Troy for daughters graduation May 9th. My normal hotel Best Western (where I have stayed 90% of visits) is booked.

According to Expedia the only hotels are Super 8 and Econo Lodge.
Never stayed there ... what are they like

I had a horrible experience at both. We stay at the Microtel in Ozark. Extremely nice and around $60 a night. Takes about 25 min to Troy but we have always had a great room and no problems. The Best Western, Hampton or Courtyard are the only hotels nice in Troy IMO.

If you are staying at the Microtel you will be very pleased. It is up a drive off 231 which makes it quiet and it is super clean.

As a local, we would love for you to stay in Troy. What about Courtyard, Quality Inn (old Holiday Inn) and Hampton Inn?

I'd look into Montgomery over Ozark. The Hampton inn at the Taylor Road exit, at the back of the Eastchase shopping center, is very nice. Or at least it was when I had to travel to the Gump for work.

I stay at the Microtel in Ozark for the Troy games. It is a very hard deal to beat for the price and how clean and nice it is. More food choices in Montgomery but for the money you can't beat it. We eat in Troy with my daughter before heading out also.

Troy to Ozark in 25 min is a helicopter flight. It's more like 35-45.

I live there. 40-45 minutes by car from my house by the Rucker Ozark gate. I have flown many a helicopter to Troy via Ozark. About 17 minutes to Troy Airport. Straight line, direct. Did it for a lot of years. It takes me 15 min by car to get to the Micro, and not more than 30 min. to the stadium. Been doing that route since I bought this place in 94. Just my $0.02, and they say its worth $34 and change.:jester::signs001:

Might want to think about staying in Montgomery since your coming in on 80. Why pass Troy to stay? Same distance.
