Does anyone know what happen. When I hear stories like this I fear suicide. What a horrible Christmas break, 2 players charged with murder/manslaughter and now one dead. Brings back horrible memories of 1987-88 for me when I lost 3 teammates, Sean and Thomas Miller and Mark Chipman. My prayers are with all these young men and their families.

Don't know too much yet. The little I did see/hear is that he was shot and left on the side of the road in Mississippi, where he was from.

Sad News the last few weeks for the Troy Football Team. Prayers to all the family's in all situations. My granddaughter returns next week, I assume players will the first of the week, Hope the football team and administration have some grief counselors prepared to meet with them and to discuss all the situations, since a lot may not have homes where they could talk openly about all three situations. At the end of the day, the pressures of football and studies alone is tough. This team needs good leaders to step up quickly and start molding a unified team.

He was arrested for disorderly conduct during a shooting back in May. I hope he hadn't gotten mixed up with the wrong people. Truly sad and my heart breaks.

This has been a horrific week for Troy University. If what you say is true, he would be the 3rd student killed by guns in one week. Prayers for their families.

Rumors always abound when stuff like this happens.

Don't know if we will ever know what happened. What the question is is how/why was he on a road at 2 AM? Tragic, he had his whole life ahead of him.

Tragic loss.

Garner, a sophomore from Clarksdale, Miss., was a defensive lineman on the Troy football team for the last two seasons. Two busloads of teammates attended this week’s funeral service.

Very trying times for our team. I know exactly what these young men are dealing with having experienced it myself. It left a void in our team for sure. I pray this brings this team closer.
