From the CDOA Championship game yesterday at Rice...in Houston - the 4th largest metro area in the United States.

During the National Anthem

Granted, it was 35 degrees at kick-off with a wind-chill of in the high teens and Rice has a student body of about 2,500 - somebody please tell Dear Leader how stupid we look when we list 28,000 students and only 2,000 show up at our games.

The Marching Owl Band rules too - their mocking of Troy at the New Orleans was classic.

We bash CUSA and the schools that are in that Conference but Rice will be playing Miss. State in the Liberty bowl and be getting a payout of $2M (according to last year's bowl payout) while we sit on the sidelines and watch. :sad010:

With that kind of money we could really jump start our endzone project. We got to get back to our winning ways.

Conferences don't select new members by quality - or lack thereof - in the actual sports, it's all about TV market. If Troy's population was 2 or 3 million we'd be a lock.

Move our main campus to Birmingham?

Bowl payouts are based on tickets you sell. Rice will not make $2 million. Mississippi State on the other hand will.

These bowls will pan out. CDOA will start to lose some of them.

Arizona probably said they would buy 20,000 tickets at $40 bucks a pop. They won't have nearly that many there.
