These are our two new recruits and both will be coming in as Freshman. They both need to gain a little muscle mass, especially Guante. But what freshman doesn't? These are two huge pick ups and I am liking Cunningham so far. We are a big International school and its nice getting some International athletes in basketball. GO TROJANS! Excited about our new basketball season! :signs018:

How do you figure these guys are freshman? The dude from the Czech Republic is almost 21 and the cat from DR is 19. I don't care if these guys have 10 games of illegibility left; if they can help us win those 10 games, I trust the coaches judgement.

Sweet! Now, I'll take a whole team of 21 year old freshman.

The Czech guy is probably pro or semi pro. In Europe club sports is much bigger than college sports (it hardly exists). The clubs have their own youth teams which are organized in leagues, etc. When Dirk Nowitzki played in Germany he was a semi pro athlete playing in the second German division. He had sth like 30 offers from universities incl UConn, Kentucky and some other powerhouses. I think he was 20 or 21 at the time, he would have been a Freshman.

I believe eligibility is based on college credit (when you start taking courses) as opposed to actual age. Ex: A kid gets drafted to play baseball out of hs and skips going to college and then decides to go to school to play football a la Gary Banks.
