In the post game with Barry and Jerry, Coach Maestri announced his retirement and will end his career with 500 wins.

Now to find our next coach.

Thank you Coach Maestri! for all you have done for Troy and the game of college basketball. You led us in the transition to D-I after a great run in D-II. You also redefined offense in the college game! You deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor in retirement!

Need to look at the coach here at the College of Central Florida here in Ocala. He has turned it into a juco powerhouse

Need someone that runs, and sticks to, the up-tempo style that has made us the most successful in the past

We had some success with that system and it is great WHEN IT WORKS, The problem is when your shooters go cold (which happened alot with the women's team with this system). We have no Big man at all, so we live and die by the outside shot. Now, if we can get the right personell to run it, then great. I have complete confidence in Hartwell in the basketball area. He is a basketball guy and I am sure he is going to bring in a young, hungry coach like we got in Rigsby for the women's team.

The first three questions hopefully are:

1) Do they play HS basketball in the south?

2) Do you believe in recruiting HS players?

3) Can you recruit HS players?

If there is a NO to any of the three?.........NEXT!!!!!!!

I'm a fairly new Trojan (Jan 2008), but I attended almost every basketball game since then. The atmosphere at Sartain, even when we were losing, was exciting. I have a lot of great memories at Troy basketball games.

Thanks for all that you've done for Troy and the sport. Enjoy your retirement!

Appreciate everything Maestri has done for this program, but good gosh it was time for a change.

Good luck to Maestri on his retirement and good luck to Hartwell on finding a new/better coach. He hit it out of the park with WBB. Now for the men's coach.

Chanda Rigby was hired before John Hartwell was on the scene.
