Wow I just got on this GTT and am very disappointed with my Trojans. I am NOT talking about my football team, who I am very VERY proud of, but I am talking about my fellow fans. We lost one game to probably the best team in the SBC and now the season is over. Everyone is sitting on their pity potties and it makes me sick. Troy will be fine and I believe recover nicely after this game but according to many on here we will basically lose all the rest of our games. Some on here, not saying any names, want to call the people on the site losers but who called us all losers is a guy who talks like an idiot and many want him on here which makes no sense. Others our rabid going after our coaches and saying their clowns. TOday is a sad day to be a Troy fan and not because we lost but because our fans lost. :censored:

I'm considering deleting my account. That's how annoyed I am with so many of these people.

I'm just as sick with the team and fans as anyone, and yea I rant and rave at times, but I'll be at the game next week, and the week after, and the week after, etc.

Relax. Take a step back. There is good stuff here at GTT. Some handle adversity differently than others. Stand behind your team and continue to support the Trojans! Your voice here is just as loud as everyone elses. Don't be discouraged by negativity. Look for the positive and get ready for Miss St.

I am with flockofoscars, when Troy gets down this board gets very hostile. I knew this storm was coming and its funny b/c during game week this board is somewhat quiet, but then we lose and this is the most lively board you can find. We were getting maybe 30 ppl on a good day before the game and now look 70+ since we lost. Not only that but half the post are about firing a coach or cutting funds to an already under funded school. This place is a wreck after a Troy lose, I hope you guys don't get this upset when you fail at life or else there may be a few less ppl around here.

Sorry you feel that way but not everybody is going to feel the same way about the state of the Troy Athletics Dept. Many believe the leadership necessary to move all the programs forward is not present. That does not mean we won't support the athletes on gameday. Many just think the athletes deserve better leadership.

There are good folks here. Though, there are those who never post until it hits the fan. Nowhere to be found when the team does well, but when they perform poorly, they're on here non-stop. They know who they are, we know who they are, it's no secret.

Are you a better leader?? Is the next guy they hire a better leader?? Who is to say who is a better leader. When you go from someone that led Troy from FCS to FBS and not only that but won games at the FBS level after the move. You say the athletes need better leadership, How many ppl do you know that are better leaders than the one we have. I haven't seen too many coaches in the country do what LB has done at Troy. So go ahead replace our leader with the budget we have, and see what comes next b/c it may not be what you were asking for.

I never said I was. That said, where did I say replace LB? The point is, he is responsible for the coaches who work underneath him. Several of those coaches have not been up to snuff for several years (Rowell and Wasden) and the numbers bear that out.

You new guys are thinking this is a reaction and a discussion about only last nights game. When really this is an ongoing discussion about the overall football program. Hang in there dont leave. We all are TROY fans and nothing is really personal.

3-9 last year. Lost the first home opener in 20 plus years this year. Shot ourselves in the foot several times with playcalling, execution, and lousy special teams/return play, looked lost on run defense, and made a backup qb look like the second coming of Omar Haugabook. The frustration isn't over a small sample size but of a potentially alarming downward spiral.

Plus, there were issues getting my season tickets and instead of 7 nation army on the PA, we get David Lee Roth?

Gotta admit the David Lee Roth tunes are usually a proven indicator of the end of times. It's been scientifically proven! :)

Pointing out, and desiring something be done about, consistent issues that have dogged the program for several years doesn't equate to bad mouthing the program. Does it solve anything? No. Does it fix anything? No. It is just passionate fans expressing their opinions. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I don't have a problem with pointing out flaws. I have a problem with people being malicious at my team and even worse their other fans. I know the difference between opinions and attacks.

One bad year...... and this year is not lost.

One bad year record wise. People have been saying for years, even during that 5 year run, that the lack of defense would come back and bite us in the ass. Last year, the offense struggled more than usual and the defense could not take up the slack because the issues that had plagued the defense for years had not addressed. The result was a 3-9 record and those defensive problems were finally brought to the forefront.

I would agree with you that we could probably do without the disrespectful personal attacks and keep the discussions civil. Well, civil for a message board anyway.

Flock, call me wise call me disrespectful. Call me Shirley call me stupid, it really doesn't mean a rats a$$ to me. And I mean this and I realize you have called no-one in particular out. But you should take a gander at some other schools message boards to realize true unabashed anarchy. We have, in the past had some posters here who have been banished because of way over the top statements and challenging everyOne to fights for disagreeing with them (remember T_____W_____, kids?). What you see now are the more moderate ones. I don't agree with anyone here usually except myself...and I don't even like me! The rules of the forum have been in place for a long time. Perhaps you would like to buy the site and then you can make everyone who disagrees with you disappear. But like it or not, everyone here who attended TROY or became a fan of TROY was taught to have an opinion. Of course, you dIsagree with me and that's fine. But this board has had these issues come up for some years now.

Calling for heads to roll or stating that anything less than a championship is not what we expect isn't bad. If thats what disappoints you, you shouldn't have chosen to go to a school that expects to win every time they step on the field.

What are you talking about? You really think THAT is my problem? Read some posts on the board about what people were saying about your team and about the people on this board and tell me you are proud of what they say. If you say it makes you proud then either your lying or you need to evaluate what being a fan is. :signs019:

I agree. I don't mind people having opinions that differ from mine. That's what makes for good conversation. But the personal attacks and the "I'm gonna insult you, but don't you dare do it back" specialism and lack of self-awareness from some people is a turn off.

Man its tough being a Troy fan, we always expect to win but when we lose its like the end of the world. It will pass with time, when things are good they are excellent but when it's bad its horrible. So goes the life of a Troy fan.

I love the high expectations. That is something great about being a Troy fan but when fans attack their team the expectations slowly decline until the fans do not have very high expectations anymore.
