The Western Athletic Conference is forging ahead in its battle for survival with the realization that it will not be a football conference after a final season of play this year.
Commissioner Jeff Hurd said Monday morning that the emphasis now has turned to finding the number of conference institutions to retain NCAA Division I recognition as a non-football league. The University of Denver joins the WAC for the upcoming seasons as a non-football member.
"I think that sometime in late July it became apparent that it was unlikely we could continue with football," Hurd said. "We looked at every option we could think of. With the geography we have in terms of schools, it presents a challenge."

I went over to their board to get fan reactions, and I see a TROY Football ad banner?! What's up with that? :confused013:

Google AdSense. They use them over at TigerDroppings.com (LSU Site) as well.

ETA: I got a Jeep ad when I clicked your link. Before I came here to post this thread, I was browsing around on a Jeep forum.

And I'm assuming they'll let these FB players transfer without having to sit out a year, right? Not that there would be a ton of high caliber players, but it might be worth looking into the ones that woule be Jr's and Sr's in 2013 if there are holes to be filled or ways to add depth of players with experience.
