Pete's Package Store in Troy has Killian's for $2.99/six pack, and, according to the clerk, it's new beer, not old skunky beer. Apparently the distributor screwed something up. Anyway, they had a butt load of it when I was there about an hour ago.

What an AWESOME post! I have never tried Killians and probably never will, but it made me laugh!

I can only imagine how out-of-date that stuff was.....

But knowing Troy citizens they would have scarffed it up anyway.

It wasn't out of date. I asked the clerk. She told me it was new beer. She said the distributor had screwed up so they were selling it cheap. That was the only reason I posted about it here. I figured some of you guys would appreciate that it was half the cost of what it normally is.

It was a good post goe1975... seriously. It broke up the monotony of some of the football talk. Kudos

Oh yea, believe the clerk working the graveyard shift at Pete's making $7.25.

Here's an idea: don't buy it if you are that paranoid.

Isn't there either an expiration date or "born on" date on all beer bottles now? I forget which breweries use which one, but should be easy to find out. Bad date, don't buy it.

Either way, if I were a broke college student and could get some Killian's, or any mass produced beer for that matter, and $0.50 a piece, I'd be all over it.

Well I went back today to check, and Lego was right. The date on the bottles were jun1812. I thought this might be the born on date, but Killian's uses a "pull-by" date. In other words, they should have been pulled three weeks ago.

SO, the lady at the store either lied to me or someone lied to her. My apologies to everyone for putting you on a bad trail. The ones I had were not skunky, so I guess for $2.99 it was not a bad deal. But still, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Lego is right, you can't trust nobody.
