So it looks final for C USA so now if you look at the mind boggling alignment of C USA they have.....

East Carolina, Rice, Tulane, Tulsa, Marshall, FIU, UNT, Louisiana Tech, UAB, UNC-Charlotte, UT-San Antonio, Southern Mississippi, and UTEP.

If they are raided in the future of say ECU, Southern Miss and or Tulsa....they have nothing that the Belt does not have.....even if only one or two of those schools left our breathern that would give their left testis to leave and join them.....more power to them.

ODU has come a long way in a couple of years, winning seasons, great marketing, and a full stadium. They already have a waiting list for season tickets. I'm surprised the belt didn't recruit them.

ODU couldn't afford to be in the Sunbelt. They'd loose too much money.

Old Dominion leaving CAA for Conference USA
By HANK KURZ Jr., AP Sports Writer 4 hours ago
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) It only took football three years to become king at Old Dominion.

Inspired by a program that has been wildly successful on the field and among Monarchs supporters, Old Dominion announced Thursday that it is leaving the Colonial Athletic Association for Conference USA, which will elevate the football program to the Bowl Subdivision level.

That ascension, university President John R. Broderick said, made the move desirable.

"Football certainly was a driving consideration is this decision, and the success of coach (Bobby) Wilder and his teams have provided us the confidence that we can make this bold step," Broderick said at Foreman Field, where about 100 ODU supporters attended a press conference.

Their excitement merely mirrored what athletic director Wood Selig was feeling.

"Today's announcement, simply put, is a game-changer," he said to rousing applause.

Oh Boy! Another team to a bigger conference that doesn't deserve it.

At this point I wouldn't consider C-USA to be a "bigger" Conference to the Sun Belt. We are in a better position than they are moving forward.
