I see we signed 38 (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/school/_/id/2653/class/2012) this year. I know of a few limitations in terms of many we are allowed to sign. I figured after the new rules were set we'd see a large drop off in recruiting numbers, but that obviously did not happen. Can anyone that knows a lot about this kind of stuff shed some light on how we were able to sign so many?

We have signed a bunch of Non Qualifiers since 2008 that either go JUCO and come to Troy in 2 years, go to juco and transfer somewhere else, flunk out of juco, or never go to any school. That is my understanding why we "oversign", some of them will never get in but they gamble they might.

We have lost some numbers due to attrition and injuries. The number that should always be in the forefront of your thinking is 85. Even if you go over 25 in a signing period, you are still afforded the maximum, unless you're under NCAA sanctions...
