I know this isn't football, but this will never be seen in the other categories.

Here's the new John M. Long Hall:

That's awesome. When is this supposed to happen? Are they putting it in the same location? Our campus is going to look amazing with this, the dining hall, the renovation of bibb graves, hawkins hall, etc...

Just got back from the SEUS Honor Band Clinic in Troy with my daughter. We seen the drawings and heard about the building from Dr. Walker. It is over 8,000 sq feet with 6,000 feet of that for the SOTS. It will also house uniform storage and dance studios. It will be state of the art and is due to be opened in July 2013. I am telling you, Troy is becoming a show place campus.

I've heard construction is going to start in June and it should only take a year. Trust me they want to get it finished as soon as possible. The band department will be spread out across campus in Hawkins Hall, Bibb Graves, and SAGA. It's great to be a Troy Trojans!

Does anyone know if they will also have a brick donor program? I bought a brick that has my name and class for $100 and I am wondering if they will do a brick with our name and the years we were in the program?

Where is this going to be? Will it replace the current building on University next to the dining hall?

Now if we could just get rid of Alumni, Stewart, MSCX, Eldridge, the Natatorium and and the Trojan Center we will be alright.

This is the new John M Long music building. It'll replace the current band hall.

Eldridge cannot be torn down, it's a historic building on campus and is attached to a historic building.

As far as the others go, I am sure they will be replaced in the future. The biggest issue is maintaining the integrity of the campus map and best utilizing the space we have on campus already while maintaining an appropriate amount of green space and trees for campus beauty and other obligations.

Now that Bibb Graves is finished they will knock down McCartha and build another GAB. The math side of MSCX should be next from what I've heard.

Sorrell does need some major work. They really should have improved it years ago when they did the science wings.

I still wish we could get a decent recital hall on campus. HAL is NOT a recital hall. A bigger library would be nice to see as well. Wallace is a joke!

Maybe the new band hall will have recital space.

Yeah I'm a political science major and the poli sci department is on the third floor of Sorrell. It's bad.... :sick016:

I thought the new band hall was going to be located on the intramural fields since they were moving them down towards the tennis area..??

The new band hall is going to be located where Long stands now. How they're gonna put that massive building there, I'm not sure, but I highly doubt we keep our parking lot there :(

The band hall will be in the same location. The band field (in the next few years) will be the site for a new Trojan Village dorm complex and the lower intramural field will be the new SOTS band field. The intramural fields will be moved over to the golf course near the tennis courts.

Half of the parking lot was used to build the new dining hall and the rest of it, aside from maybe Dr. Long's spot will be turned into the new building. There will be practically no parking behind the new Band Hall/HAL Hall/Trojan Dining Hall.
