Trojans Volleyball Team Victorious Friday

Troy University's volleyball team triumphed in its Sun Belt Conference opener over the South Alabama Jaguars (6-8 overall, 0-1 SunBelt) in a five game match set from Jaguar Gym Friday night.
Eliza Zwettler, Leah Tenney and Liz Schaab each totaled double digit kills in the victory. Zwettler, Meghan Washlow and Bridget Reidy also collected double digit digs defensively.
Zwettler leads the Trojans offensively with 146 total kills while Reidy defensively has collected 154 digs.
After dropping the first two games by scores of 30-24 and 30-21, the Trojans stepped up intensity and took command of games three, four, and five winning 30-28, 30-25 and 15-13.
Troy (7-4 overall, 1-0 SunBelt) returns home for a 1 p.m.Sunday showdown with Middle Tennessee (14-1 overall) at Trojan Arena.
During Sunday matches this season, Sonic Restaurants will provide ice cream and slushes to fans. Admission for Trojan volleyball matches is free.
