Or should I drive to New Orleans after the game?

There are alot of places to stay in BR. The team is staying in BR. NO is about an hour with no traffic, but expect traffic to be bad until you get well outside of town. The roads around BR are notoriuosly bad for traffic, even on a good day. Extreme example: it took 16 hours for some people to make the drive from NO to BR before the hurricane. The roads suck and because of the bayous, there are not many alternative routes. Also, if your coming to tailgate before the game, come early. Cars are parked down the road for miles before game time and construction of a new upper deck has created some serious crowd bottlenecks around the stadium so it takes longer than usual to squeeze 100,000 people into Tiger Stadium.

I booked a hotel room last night in nearby Port Allen. Everything left that was decently close to the stadium was way over a hundred dollars. I'm looking forward to the game on Saturday.

I have reservations at the Quality Suites on Bluebonnet. I think it's about 7-10 miles from campus

I just booked a room on the internet at the Holiday Inn in Denham Springs (about 15 miles from Stadium) for $63.

Troystfan- my family stayed at the Quality Suites on Blubonnet when we moved to BR this summer. Building is kind of dirty, but the rooms were clean enough and the breakfast was better than the standard Continental. From Bluebonnet, you might be better off avoiding the interstate to get to the game. There is a back way if you take Bluebonnet east till it runs into Burbank which will take you straight to the game with hardly any lights and no turns. Burbank is parallel to the river and in a flood zone so there is very little development there. Plus that way out will be all traffic one-way out after the game, so it'll be one of the easier routes.
Getting from LSU to the interstate is a mess everyday, because there are several beautiful lakes in between LSU the highway, so traffic gets bottlenecked going around them through neigborhoods with lots of lights.
From Port Allen, you have to cross the Miss. River, but if you get off immediately after you can take Nicholson right into the stadium area. Not far.
For those staying in Denham Springs, that's out by where I live and there is no easy way in, just take the interstate and get off at College or Acadian exits.
LSU has done surveys that found the 2/3 of all LSU football fans tailgate for MORE than 5 hours before the game. So if you expect to come 4 hours before the game to avoid traffic.....yeah, right.

Thanks for the info, is there another place you would recommend?

not really, price was decent and we stayed there with a 5 month old and weren't uncomfortable so fo r a football weekend, I wouldn't avoid that hotel. Not sure you'll find better at that price and the rooms have more space since they are "suites". Our room had a seperate living rm/kithcen area that could be closeed off from Bedroom (great for setting up a crib and letting the baby go to sleep before mom an dad wanted to. And the back way down bluebonnet and burbank is probably one of the smoother routes into LSU. Also, Mall of Louisiana is on Bluebonnet just over the interstate. Decent mall and there are a few nice resturaunts around it, like J. Alexanders and a Cheesecake Bistro place which is good. (Also a HUGE chinese buffet place if Mr. Ho is travelling with you  )
