Does anyone know why Stamp is no longer on the team? He was a junior last year, and I have heard nothing on why he is no longer with the team. :?

I'm not sure what it was unless it was grades? We have to replace 5 starters now!

Jerome Stamper is no longer on the team due to a multitude of off the court issues, with grades included. Weighing more heavily in the decision was Stamper's constantly getting into one situation or another. As one person very close to the basketball team told me, "one bad apple, spoils the whole barrel" the staff saw that happening, and took care of the issue before it became a bigger problem.

Thanks for the info D1--it's sad to see it happen that way for Stamp. He was a hard-nosed player, but if you can't keep it between the lines when you're off the court, you need to go. No doubt about it. This is just another reason that Maestri is a great coach!

He was definitely an asset on the court, but if he couldn't get his act together off the court, then he would be a bad influence and could cause trouble for the rest of the team/school. His playing will be missed, but I'm sure that Maestri and the rest of the guys will work hard to compensate for his not being here.

Hey That_Guy;
Stamper was academically ineligible. And, you know who I blame for that? Stamper. He let himself and the team down. If he feels "attacked" by those facts, I could care less. You wanna play, you make the grade. Period.
