Foley standouts Dre'Shon McGaster and Darius Powell verbally committed to in-state schools this past weekend.

McGaster, a defensive end, is set for Troy while Powell, a quarterback projected by many to play reciever at the next level, chose UAB.

McGaster (6-2, 215) recorded 39 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 14 quarterback pressures and 2 forced fumbles this past season. A Rivals 3-star recruit, McGaster played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic last month.

Powell (5-10, 186) started at quarterback for three seasons for the Lions and threw for 1,131 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions last season. He also ran for 799 yards and 12 scores. Powell saw playing time at slot receiver during the Max Emfinger All-American Bowl Game Classic last month in Baton Rouge, La.

Verbal commitments are non-binding, and players cannot sign scholarship paperwork until Feb. 2

Shouldn't be no problem for you since he is already bigger than DW was in HS.

McGaster told me last Sunday he was 6'1, 230. Take that for what it's worth
