Well, we are going to find out which one of us is jinxed. Because the only bowl I did not attend we won as well, and I am going to this one too.

Silicon Valley - lost - I attended
NO Bowl 2006 - won - stayed home with newborn daughter
NO Bowl 2008 - lost - I attended
GMAC - lost - I attended

I dont have a good track record with bowls.

Have never missed one, but this may be my first unless I can get my/convince my boss(my wife) to go....she has been real upset with many of Troy's performances this season, and says that she doesn't want to waste our money this year on a team that we don't know from one game to the next whether the coaches or players really care about winning or not. I am working on her though.

The have a deck/parking facility. Valet is around $35 per night, or you can take a chance with the other lots around town for less. I am staying at the Marriott.

I will be there with the wife or the first time since the 1st Troy Bowl game in San Jose. I have been to them all. Looking forward to a great weekend

You guys that are going how are you doing it? I'm not so sure I can go with the short notice we had. I'm looking on Expedia and it will cost me no less than $376 to fly out of Montgomery to New Oreleans, plus the Hilton costing me $75+ a night, plus a $40.00 ticket. So if any of you guys have found any package deals please let me know. I really, really want to go but my wallet is looking mighty thin right now.

After some intense negotiating last night with my wife, and after acting out the eating of a New Orleans biegnet....I am pleased to announce that my family and I will be there to cheer our Trojans on to victory. Either that or some carpooling. Are you in Montgomery? That's only a 300 mile trip to New Orleans. That's less than two tanks of gas round trip for me, maybe $80 in gasoline. Saves you $300 instead of flying, and realistically, you'll be spending about the same amount of time traveling considering the check-in at the airport, etc.

Birmingham to New Orleans, round trip $222, $111 each way. Leave at 4pm on Friday arrive at 5:10 (non-stop), return to B'ham at 10:30 on Sunday (leave at 9:30 - non-stop). Rooms at the Marriott ar $99 a night (all fees included), plus a $40 ticket, brings the total to $440. Price to see TMTDM earn it's 8th victory? PRICELESS! SO GET THERE, WE NEED YOU!!!!

SOTSButterfly and I budget for a bowl game every year. We save time off and know the dates ahead of time for the possible bowls we can go to (mainly New Orleans and Mobile), so we're always prepared. Since we're in Montgomery, we drive. It only takes about 4.5 hours.

can we do it? Can we do nothing but positivity for 13 days?

No fire anyone talks. No 'chipshot' attitude. No 'do we deserve a bowl'. No "i can't believe we lost to uab". No "yeah but, we gave up 1 million yards of offense". No "td....rowell". No bagheads. No apologist. No blazerunit. No none of that.

Can we do it?

I say 100% positivity for 13 days. Let's roll this trojan nation down to new orleans, beat up on some bobcats, and win a bowl game.

I'll be there with my wife and two children. Do to other obligations I'll have to come in Saturday afternoon (my son has a basketball game at 9:00am Saturday morning and I am the head coach of his team) and leave to come home Sunday evening so I can be back to work Monday morning. Sadly, a coworker's spouse has been diagnosed with cancer this past week and given a short time to live, so my coworker is understandably missing time from work and it would not be right for me to take time off as well.

So I would ask all my fellow Trojans out there to lift up my coworker and her spouse in prayer during this very difficult time.

Maybe after a big Troy win Saturday night we can see a few sights before coming home Sunday afternoon/evening. Hope to see some of my fellow Trojan brothers and sisters Saturday evening and maybe Sunday morning, albeit for a short time. GO TROY!

Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Washington, and Wyoming

Especially when you realize all of these people have committed to travel on such SHORT NOTICE!
