LALA blocks a punt, recovers on the 3 and can't get in in 4 trys. Turns it over to FIU at their own 1. Now 1:49 left in the half

how sought after is FIU's HC right now? I really don't know much about him, but anybody that can pull FIU up from the cellar like he has (or his coaching staff) must be gaining some national attention

they were ready to send him out of town a rail before they beat us. He is now the second coming. Mr. Ho made reference to him leaving I think

That will depend on how the season ends up for them, I would suspect. They are leading the conference but still need 2 wins to become bowl eligible. I give them all the credit in the world for coming in with a good game plan against Troy, though.

Cristobal is thought of as a decent young coach, but FIU fans seriously wanted him canned just two weeks ago. He gets little press, even in the Miami market.

I cant believe the ULL cameras are showing one girl braiding another's hair, in the stands!

They've shown as little football as they can get by with. Much more shots of happenings in the stands

31-17 FIU and not looking good for LaLa tonight. On Cristobal, FAU had thumped them badly and their fans were fired up.

How bad is the New Orleans Bowl going to look when 500 to 1,000 FIU fans come to NOLA to support their team? Panther fans don't even drive 35 miles to Fort Lauderdale for the Shula Bowl.

Yup! What would suck even worse is if the SBC has NO bowl eligible teams!!!:scared:

If Monroe wins next week vs Lafayette at home they are bowl eligible. If FIU wins next week vs A State at home they are bowl eligible. If Troy wins next week vs WKU at home they are bowl eligible. If FAU wins at Middle Tennessee next week, my guess is that the winner of the Troy vs FAU game gets the godaddy.com bowl.

That would be sweet, 500 in N.O. & 800 in Mobile w/FIU & FAU. That's got to make some bowl committees feel some love.

I don't know. A winning season tends to bring out all sorts of people who never even knew they were fans. And I have to admit, if I knew my team was going to have their rear handed to them year after year, I probably wouldn't drive 35 miles to see the game, either. I'd rather just watch it on TV/listen on the radio with my adult beverage and curse to my heart's delight each time the ball is turned over. But FIU has gone from bottom of the pile to top in one year, with nothing in between. NOLA might excite a lot of folks who just didn't have anything to get excited about before now and wake up some of the fanbase for FIU.
