"When I first came out of surgery, all I could do was shrug my shoulders. Now, I can lift my arms up. I get stronger daily,'' said Blackwell, who can brush her teeth and eat with a fork with the help of a splint on her hands. She also has some feeling in her right foot, on her hips and lower back.

She even has changed her tune and likes lifting weights.

Great news. I hope she makes a full recovery.
