Just got to peek at the new schedule. Looks conducive to fans. Only one early weekday game (Tuesday 1/3) AND there are 6 home games in the month of February. Looks like Thursday/Saturday games for the most part. AL State will play at Troy on 12/15. Should be interesting now that Coach Sewell is coaching there....

Hopefully it will be posted on the athletics website soon.....

The schedule is a pretty competitive non-conference slate and we get our first taste of our new Sunbelt foes.

Some of the games are as follows:

The season opens November 18th at the Columbia University Classic in NYC.

We also play at Mississippi State on Dec. 10th in Starkville.

At Xavier in Cincinnati on Dec. 22 and at the Duquesne University tournament in Pittsburgh on December 30-31.

We have a home game on Dec. 19th against Bowling Green from the MAC.

Our first Sunbelt game is January 7th at South Alabama.

This is the best schedule Troy has played since I have been here. I love the home non-conference games. We actually have more than 1 non-home conference game and 2 of them are actually against D-1A schools. 13 home games. Great Schedule

Bowling Green is not a bad non-conference game. But I'll miss it if we go to the New Orleans Bowl.

I was hoping to see a UCF/Troy matchup but no such luck.

Good schedule. Ours is a little more polar. Some really hard teams and some pretty easy ones that fortunately may draw a local interest:

UCF vs. Barry
UCF vs. Rollins
UCF vs. Nova Southeastern
UCF vs. Stetson
UCF vs. Bethune-Cookman
UCF AT Florida
UCF AT Florida Atlantic
UCF vs. Norfolk State
UCF AT Kentucky

UCF Holiday Classic:
UCF vs. Birmingham Southern
UNF vs. Western Illinois

Fiesta Bowl Classic:
UCF vs. Western Kentucky
Arizona vs. Sam Houston State
(Possible game against Arizona)

Now that we're in a different conference - I'm pulling for you Trojans to make a splash in the Sunbelt!

I don't understand what is wrong with the decision makers at UCF and Troy (mostly UCF, since they pulled out of a schedule football game during the last year or two) that they cannot manage to schedule football and, now, basketball games.

There has been a heated rivalry in both sports and yet the powers that be are just letting it die. In football, Troy visits to Orlando used to pack the Tangerine Bowl.

I just don't get it.

I'd like to see Troy continue its heated hoops rivalry with UCF, too, *******!

On another note, did you know that Troy basketball practice begins on Monday at 6:00 a.m? The team is heading to the Bahamas for some pre-season games next Thursday!

We'll know alot more about this year's squad fairly early. I think there's a good chance we'll be better inside with the maturity of Jarvis Acker and arrival of some much-needed size. And I suspect our guards will be much improved with another year under their belts.

I also keep hearing good things about the new freshman point guard--but you never know about rookies.

*******, you need to talk to your pals at UCF about getting Troy back on their basketball schedule!

Funny .... I don't have many pals at UCF!

I need to shoot over to the Bahamas (about 40 miles east of me) and root on the Trojans.

Could it get better than that? Sweet!!!!
