I just heard a few minutes ago driving into work on WSM 650 out of Nashville (I have SIRIUS) that the Music City Bowl officials are in the process of changing this bowl's matchup from an SEC/Big Ten game to an SEC/ACC matchup. This would go into effect in 2006.

Would be a much smarter idea for them, as they could draw a few more fans from the ACC then they could from the Big 10.

I wonder if that means the Big 10 will grab a Bowl Game from another a ACC spot in a bowl?

Would they pick-up an ACC spot from the Peach?

Doubt it - would have to be a more northern bowl game that would have to make the swap. But I could be wrong.

Nah, the ACC would never go for that. The Peach pays a lot more money than the Music City Bowl. It would have to be a comparable bowl in my opinion. What is left out there to trade? Not much with the ACC involved comaprable to the Music City.

Still pays much more than the Music City. Keep in mind that the Music City is more in line with the Indy Bowl as far as money is concerned. Of course, The Big XII is tied to the Indy, so that would not work.

There's an article this morning in the Montgomery Advertiser that reports that the Gator Bowl will dump the ACC representative in 2006 and replace it with a BIG XII school, making the Gator a Big East/BIG XII matchup.

So, the Big 10 is getting dumped all together? Surely they are working a deal with another Bowl at least the size of the Music City to replace the money lost. That would only make sense. I could not see the Big 10 just losing the Bowl and revenue with nothing to compensate. Also, does the Big XII lose a Bowl in the process since they are rumored to be picking up another? I wish we had some details on this.
