Not Jamie Hampton, but you all remember Smokey Hampton, who had the 4th and 17 catch for 19 yards at the MTSU 3 which set up Troyís game-winning touchdown in the 21-20 classic in Murfreesboro in 2006.
It paved the way to four straight conference titles. Hereís a sidebar from that game focusing on Hampton.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. ó It hasnít been a dream senior season for Smokey Hampton.
But Saturday night was a dream for Hampton, who had the game of his life.
Hampton caught seven passes for 104 yards and a score, but his 19-yard reception on 4th-and-17 from the Middle Tennessee 22 set up the game-winning score in Troyís 21-20 win over MTSU.

I remember that like it was yesterday. That was my first year marching in the Sound of the South. The greatest Troy game I've ever witnessed. It was a defining game that paved the way into Troy being a powerhouse in the Sun Belt.

Greg Whibbs was also a hero there. His onside kick was textbook.

I was at that game! The MUTS had their beads on ready for the N.O. Bowl. Lets just say it was great walking out of that stadium with a win and ruining their shot at N.O.

The 4th and 17 and onside kick...all amazing! I'm looking forward to another great game Tuesday!

I was at that game also... we had a good time watching all the tears from the MUTS fans. One of my favorite TROJAN memories!
