“I’m going to play both of them,” said Fleetwood about Saturday’s upcoming game at South Carolina. “I just think competition makes us all better down the road.”
I'm not going to say you can not win with 2 quarterbacks sharing playing time, but unless on eof them steps up and earnsa the right to the starting job, history does not bode well for the 2QB offense. Nick Saban is having to do the same thing at LSU this year because he has two talented, but not maginificent, QBs. I think Fleetwood probably feels the same way, I just hope one of them proves himself as deserving og the starting spot in Columbia, so we don't have this hanging around our neck for anymore SunBelt play.
Let the arguments begin..........

Troy fans can expect to see a dual-quarterback system similar to what was used against New Mexico State. Freshman D.T. McDowell saw extensive action, leading two scoring drives. Leak, arguably, had his best game of the year. The senior passed for 165 yards and more importantly didn’t throw an interception. He had four in the first two games of the year.
Fleetwood wanted to play Leak in the first and third quarters, with McDowell taking snaps in the second and final period of play.

I think it would be impossible too do it, as both QBs need the confidence that they are the starter. Both need too know that they are going too be the goto guy.
So for now IMHO, unless DT shows me something different or Leak screws up majorly, stick with Leak.
Both
We need Leaks Sr. leadership for now and DT to be preparred for next year.

The question is: Are we concerned about this year, or for future years?
Leak needs to be the #1 starter. Put in D.T. throughout the year when contests are decided in our favor early. He's a freshman and to put him in during big games when it's still on the line is a lot of pressure. Didn't D.T. have minimal training camp time? Or was he there for all of it--Spring and Fall. Florida put in Chris Leak last year and awarded him the starter immediately, but I think that is a rare situation. I may be wrong, but this is what I believe.
Tennessee has the two freshman QB's sharing time which is looking to work out so far, but I would predict that Tennessee will regret this as the year goes on. It depends if you are playing for this year, or for future years.
I know one thing, we need a good decision as to what will work for the QB situation--and soon--I think many are tiring of the offensive troubles.

After USC I now beleive we should start DT and let him play the whole game, just can't let Leak throw the ball, too dangerous.

I change my vote - DT should start.

Looking back, we really had a chance in the second half. Samples drops the ball on 4th down on the goalline, and we get the ball to the 12 yard line and "Take-a" Leak throws another pick. that is at least 10 and probably 14 points off the board. We choke again!!

We all know that winning is a team effort as well as losing. Yet, the only players that should be allowed on a football field should be those who understand that not doing your best and not giving your all is unforgivable. Leak desire to be hsi best is very questionable, he doesnt look as if he wants to do well for his team. DT deserves that shot, whoever wants it more should have it! Yes DT is young, but would you rather see someone screw up trying his best rather than seeing someone not trying there best. DT is the future! Think about our team next year, Leak is the past, he doesnt want it. (hope he reads this and plays better) WITH LOVE, NO HATE! GO TROY!
