Cornerback Chris Davis of Thomasville, Ala., gave his verbal commitment to Troy recently. Davis is Troy’s third verbal commitment for the 2011 signing class.

Davis’ final two schools, he said, were Duke and Troy. He also had offers from South Alabama, Southern Miss and UAB
