I brought up in the chat that our D did all they could and anytime you hold the other team to 13 points, you should expect a win.
There were a couple of breakdowns from our "D". First of all, we forced zero turnovers from Arky State. I know we dropped at least 2 passes that should have been INTs. The worst breakdown came after Olmstead's punt when we had them down on their own one yard line and the guy ran it to the 27 on the first play. The commentators said that our defense didn't look like they were ready and weren't lined up all the way. That's poor coaching! Blakeney was probably day dreaming about hanging from the goalposts after the Mizzou win or thinking about which coaching job he should apply for after we beat LSU.
Honestly though, anyone who blames our defense for this loss is smoking crack. They were out there so long and had stopped so much of Ark State's offense that I can't blame them for letting up and giving out late in the game. How frustrating must it be for them?
