Jeff, are you ever going to carry the Addidas line of Polos? I was over with Chuck Ash yesterday and he had one in the Cardinal that looked really nice. If it had just had the Troy logo, it would have been awesome. I have a Grey and White one already, but that Cardinal was sharp. Plus, the shirts are "ClimateWear" so they stay wear very comfortably.

Yeah I would like to, just cannot get addidas to call me back. I have placed about 10 or so phone calls, but does not seem anyone wants to sell them to me. I am definitly going to keep trying though.

Adidas makes some of the nicest apparell in my opinion. The quality is second to none. It sure would be nice if you were able to work something out with them.

Adidas signed an exclusive contract with the Bookstore at the same time they signed with athletics. Adidas was not allowed to sell any Troy merchandise to any other company.
This could have been changed with the agreement with the company handling trademark licensing and trying to build brand awareness. Big loss for the store since they never would order enough of the stuff or a wide enough selection. You only get one shot per year to order and store management was way too conservative from the start. I will say that administration had a habit of sending mixed signals to store management and it could have resulted in the lack of inventory (increase merchandise sales but decrease inventory).

Why would Troy sign a contract to only carry a brand within the school bookstore? I have a hard time believing this. That's merchandising suicide. Let's just say there are big problems within the marketing department IF this is truly the case. I want so bad to be able to go into any department store in Dothan and pick up a Troy shirt or hat. It really should not be that big if a deal. Every other D1A school in America is able to pull off the feat.

The bookstores selection is horrible. I was in Troy 2 weeks ago and planned to buy me and my wife new Troy gear, but I could not find one thing I would wear. It has alway been that way. Maybe I am spoiled because I grew up in Tallahassee and a Florida State fan, but get some decent stuff,

FHBrian was just in the store and says how horrible the selection is. It was just a couple of weeks ago that someone posted a number of pictures from the store and people talked about how good the selection is but how bad the customer service is.
Now, how does this apply to the personal attack question. Would his post have been considered a personal attack if he had named the store manager and accused him of not doing his job and being ignorant of merchandising / marketing? What about if he just made those statements in general about the store management? I bet not. However, if he had placed the balme on JH, DP or JS, he would have made a personal attack. Just my opinion.

No personal attacks were ever discussed in this thread. We really need to let that issue die. It obviously upsets too many people so there is no need to keep bringing it up.

I am sorry if you considered that a personal attack. I was just saying that the selection of what they had did not meet my personal preference. Before they changed to logo I could find things, maybe it is just because I am not crazy about the new logos on the merchandise.

I did not take your post as a personal attack. I was just using it to address the other issue being discussed in another thread.
My point was to question where the personal attack begins since some think the least negative comment is a personal attack or an attack on the University and its administration.

TrojanWar? I was in HatWorld just a few weeks ago and it was sad even there. They still have the old TSU Zepher fitted caps, but when I asked about the new Troy logoed items, his reply was...I don't even know if we are going to carry any of it.

Yep, that's about the same response I got from Hat World. The response from ScreenTech was even worse. They acted like they were not going to get anything new. Again, this is my #1 beef against the Troy administration as it's a multi-million dollar industry that's being pissed on.

The Hat Shack in Mobile's mall had a couple of really nice Troy hats with the new logos.
To say I was shocked is an understatement.

The Hatshack or whatever it is called in Montgomery (the east side Montgomery mall) had a couple of great Troy hats! They were expensive (more than the bookstore) and I didn't buy one, but... They had them
