The Trojan baseball team is currently receiving votes for the NCBWA (National College Baseball Writers Association) poll. UCF is ranked at #25.
The NCBWA is one of four major, nationl college baseball polls along with Baseball America (probably the most well known of the college baseball polls), Collegiate Baseball, and ESPN/USA Today.
Maybe by year's end, Troy will crack the Top 25 or Top 30 in some of these polls.

So, Troy is leading the conference but UCF is ranked higher?
So typical.
Wasn't FAU ranked early in the season?

College baseball polls have always been a different animal. For example, Texas is currently ranked #1 in three of the four major polls, but the Longhorns are in 4th place in the Big XII right now.

That is very odd - i guess they are ranking on how good they think they are?

I thought you guys should be higher in the polls...and thought the same about UCF. Especially since the A-Suns RPI was 6th best in the country.
When I researched it though - they look pretty fair. 21 out of 25 teams were from those 5 conferences ranked stronger than the A-Sun. Big 12, Pac-10, Big West, SEC and ACC. Rice was the only questionable team since their record was so bad this year, and they've dropped since then.
So it looks pretty legit.
As far as UCF being ranked higher than Troy - well of course. Record/sos/rpi are all better. You're A-Sun record is better, but we have the same amount of losses - our bye week was just a week before yours.
Now barring a huge comeback by UCF (down 8-2 to FAU right now) - You'll have a legit spot above us in the standings.
Even if you beat us, there's still a chance we'll be ranked higher - that's just how it goes. You didn't shoot up to #16 in football after beating Mizzou, same thing.
Lastly, for TUEngineer - you made a comment back during our heated basketball discussions about how you would beat us in the baseball series. It was sort of laughable then, but now all I can do is ask if you have any advice for lotto numbers. You guys are having an amazing season.

What can I say?
Do you plan on being at the games next weekend? I'm really gonna try to be there. We have to leave the dorms on the 5th or so, so I'll have no place to stay, but I may just make the 45 min drive each day to make it. If my buddy can come up from Tallahassee we're gonna be VERY obvious as to who we are, I have a few ideas. We're known as the "rowdy fans"(and have been called names for our enthusiasm) but we plan on being EXTRA rowdy just for you guys!
