enjoy the sunbelt
Payback time? You needed UCF to lose to freakin UConn to rip on us? You're an idiot. We got exposure on national television for back to back years, and were competitive...you on the other hand lost to Xavier (if i remember correctly) 3 years ago by 11 and havent been back since, in fact...UCF has owned you. When you guys made a bowl game, I was rooting for you guys against Northern Illinois...not coming onto gotroytrojans.com and ripping you after you lost...and somehow you call us classless....unbelievable.
Have fun in the SuckBelt. You should just stay in the A-Sun, you would have a better chance of succeeding, oh wait, you backed into the A-Sun tourney and choked vs. G-Webb...
Happy Trails!

werent you the guys who lost in the Asun Tournament...Didnt we beat you twice last year...didnt we make the tourney...hmmm, and so you rip us for losing to the defending national champs...Thats mighty white of you.
Dont you have a cousin to reproduce with somewhere?

You know, I actually, secretly (swallowing hard) rooted for UCF in the game today. As difficult as it is, I love the underdog and wish the best for our (former) conference.
A little better inside game, some made layups, successful threes, and better passing (sounds like Troy this season) and UCF might have been in it.

Its the same thing as 3 years ago when troy was representing us. I was rooting for you guys because we were in the same conference. I just got pissed off that we had tsubaggs come over to our boards to rip on us after we lost to the defending national champions. Its not like we lost to utah state.
Anyways lottsa luck next year.

I don't blame Baggs. We live in Florida and love to hate UCF. Your people need to learn how to take as well as give crap. Some Knights would have (and did) do the same thing here.
Some of us (including Baggs, who brought his daughter and friends of near college age to the UCF-Troy game in Orlando) still have bitter tastes in their mouths regarding the general atmosphere.
The SunBelt is a step up and Troy will improve last year (can't get much worse than this year, yet we still played a talented UCF team to the wire). The SunBelt is a decent hoops, basball, etc, conference.
Someday, it wold be wonderful to get in C-USA or some offshoot with UCF, UAB, USM, South Florida, etc. It's possible. Troy just needs to continue making small; improvements each year.

Speaking of the so called "Suck Belt" How about the Louisiana Cajuns taking the number 4 team in the country to the wire? If the Cajuns would have gotten a true number 4 seed (Louisville was underseeded) they'd be in the second round now.
Honestly, I can't see how you can have anything bad to say about UCF. They won, they were more than respectable, and they were a part of our conference.
I live close to UAB and I understand how Baggs feels about UCF. Honestly, when UCF is in C-DOA next year and they play UAB, I'm not sure who to root for. Or rather root against. I think I'll just root for the gym to collapse.

So I just got in from Mass...but read that little debacle on our board, and then came by here and have a few quick thoughts (as usual) before I hit the hay:
1) Baggs - you're first mistake, as you well know by now, was saying you were on the "coach" instead of on the "couch." You're second mistake, however, was not learning to use the edit feature.
2) UCFFunke lives on this message board more than I do.
3) "Yuck Fou" in a post is "proof positive" that F-Bombs were dropped in the Arena, per Baggs. Two thoughts on this...1) Someone is watching too much CSI and 2) GET OVER THE F-BOMB IN THE ARENA THING!
4) We lost. No moral victory. Especially after watching Bucknell and Vermont get it done. I only take 2 positives from the game...1 is Gary Johnson and 2 is that most mid-majors were tied or up/down by 4-6 at the half against the nations best teams. Those games all ended miserably down the stretch. Kirk's team showed charactor to make it a game down the stretch.
5) We'll be fine next year. We lose some key players, but this is the third year in a row that we've had this happen and Kirk has yet to let us down.
6) Stetson is going to get killed by LSU tomorrow night.
Good luck in the Sun-Belt. One more sport is out of the A-Sun!

Are we really worried about transposed letters now? Come on ...
The F-bomb thing become very personal to many Troy fans because the people screaming it were literally a few feet from our ears. I knew what a couple of the Jerks behind me had for lunch. :) It is not sensible to put fans and family of the visiting team immediately in front of the rowdy group. It invites confronations.
It really is amazing there were no fist fights that day. I had the sense (believe it or not) to take a walk rather than respond. A beer or two (didn't drink before that game) and I might not have left my seat. :)
Good bye A-Sun!

i dont care how anyone else feels about UCF. Personally, I dont care for them, BUT...... they played damn well against the defending national champions! That plus the wins by Bucknell and Vermont says something about mid majors! Great job UCF!!!.......but you still suck! :P

And how about that gutty performance by U-LaLa. They had a chance to beat Louisville (who many would argue should have been a 2 or 3 at the lowest.
We'll both have our work cut out for us in our new conferences.

That was almost a great upset. Louisiana was just a shot away but couldn't do it.
At least it puts the SunBelt on the basketball map.

I was actually in Orlando at UCF for a convention when they were losing and when we returned to the hotel room and saw the score that night, I just about jumped across the room and screamed for joy. I often cheer for the underdog. I even cheered for UAB through both games and was sad to see them lose last night. However, It'll be a cold day in hell before I want UCF to win a game (unless they play the University of Alabama).
Just my two cents.

Interesting that you saw the game when we were losing (probably by 15 or more points), and yet were jumping up and down at the final score as if we were upset.
If you believe in revenue sharing, you would have been more right to cheer for UCF than UAB this season.
I hope you enjoyed your convention. UCF has pretty solid facilities, on par with the best hotels and convention centers.

I love when you use UCF as your standard of athletic success! Thanks for the compliment!

It's spelled b-a-s-e-b-a-l-l. Hmmm...TSU grad.

King: I would place my writing skills up against yours without much consternation.
:)
We try to remain conversational here and some quick typos are generally not cause for ridicule.
BTW, my comment about UCF was meant as a compliment.
