WBA allocates Baker to Cleveland Magic
03/16/05 - World Basketball Association (WBA)
Atlanta, GA - The World Basketball Association (WBA) announces Eddie Baker (6-7, 210lb, Forward) from Troy State University, has been allocated to the Cleveland Magic. During his senior season at Troy, Baker averaged 13.3 points and 5 rebounds per game, with highs of 25 points and nine rebounds against Lipscomb University. During his junior season, he averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, with a high game of 18 points against Georgia State. He started two seasons at Iowa Western CC, where he was one of six players to average double figures, while scoring 11 points and snagging nine boards per game. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Baker resides in Chattanooga, TN. The 12 team WBA, in its second year, is a developmental professional league designed to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, NBDL, CBA, and International Scouts while providing each community an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment. The purpose of the WBA is to serve as a training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, career development, community involvement, and education. The WBA is the next best thing to the NBA! The Cleveland Magic, owned by American Longevity, will begin play in the WBA in late April. The team will be coached by Rick Hughes, former Lee University Head Coach.
