Anyone have an idea of what will happen Saturday?

Here is what I think. The explosive offense of Arkansas State will hit the brick wall known as the Trojan defense. I think the Trojan offense will look better than we might actually be against ASU's weak defense.

I do believe the Indian fans will make an impact on the game. A home game in this conference is worth at least 7 points. So, here is what will happen. The deisel, DeWhitt Betterson rumbles and tumbles for over 100 yards. Aarron Leak is accurate again throwing multiple TDs. DeMarcus Ware takes over the game on defense.

Look for multiple turnovers from our defense. Trojan roll 34-17.

I am seeing a blow out.

I see the trojans rolling 49 - 7!! Only giving up 7 on Special teams.

I just do not see Ark State putting up a fight against the trojans and our defense.

This will be a good game. Long Haul for Trojans, including hour and a half drive on gameday since hotel rooms were not available in the state.

Some key matchups will be in passing the ball. They have one of the best pass offenses, but ofcourse TROY has the best Pass Defense, which I will predict will shut them down (except a few possible big plays). In addition, the TROY D will gain several turnovers, ASU is last in the league in that margin. This matchup could change drastically if the rumors are right about ASU's QB not being able to start. :?: The backup will run more and they are not good at the run.

Special Teams will be interesting. Olmstead is awesome, but ASU is averaging better on punts (maybe they are in more long punt situations?) and TROY is next to last in Sunbelt in punt returns (though we lead in kickoff returns). The field position battle will be key to a TROY victory, because TROY's redzone defense has not been great, but ASU is the only team in Sunbelt whose defense has done worse and ASU's redzone offense is also on the bottom of the conference.

In the bad news department, ASU has second to least number of penalties, while TROY leads this dubious category (we can all cite examples of why that is, or shouldn't be).

But did I mention turnovers. I did, but it is worth repeating because ASU has a turnover margin of -8, while TROY has a positive turnover margin :)

Finally, ASU has the WORST record in the conference for scoring defense (41 average) and TROY has the best (17.8 avg), but our offenses average within 3 points of each other. So once again defense will be key to keep them from scoring more than 20 points and the offense must capitalize on fumble recoveries and a poor ASU defense to score regularly.

Prediction:

TROY 35
ASU 17

If they're going to be passing then I'm expecting Ansley to have a field day.

42-10 Trojans

It's not that rooms were unavailable, it's just that nobody wants to sleep in them. We are talking about Arkansas!

TROY defense does the usual even though we give up a few big pass plays. Multiple INT's. Multiple sacks. Control game tempo with a steady running game and controlled passing attack:

Trojans 35
Injuns 10

Coach Blakeney said he even checked the local Holiday Inn Express and the whole town was booked solid before the season started. He doesn't want to stay in Memphis because of the long drive, though he said he hopes the Troopers can "help out" in that respect. LB was smart enough to contact the Memphis coach and get permission to practice there on Friday, so the Trojans only have to make the drive once. It's not the best situation for the players, but hopefully it won't make a difference.

I guess you missed my sarcasm. Is there a Holiday Inn Express in the state of Arkansas? I thought they only had motels that charged by the hour and extra for clean sheets.
