I have to say the way we choked that game away was the perfect ending to a complete dissapointment of a season. We've GOT to get bigger players next year and guys who can shoot and ESPECIALLY guys who can defend or we are in BIG trouble in the Belt. I'm so glad we can now say goodbye to the Setting Sun!

Don and Dave have fooled two big-time recruits to play next year (one from California will be Troy's best player ever).

But with current facilities, don't count on getting too many looks from anyone with talent in the future.

DM and DF are miracle workers, but that can only get you so far. Darryl Thomas could have started on this team...today's Darryl Thomas. that's how little talent we had. And support needs to pick up. We couldn't fill up Charles Henderson gym for a game this year...and in year's past. It's embarrassing.

The SunBelt could crush all SettingSun teams in basketball.

If the SunBelt is so good (and I hope it is), then why has it not had more than one team in the Dance for many years? (That's what I read, anyway.)

I did a little research to try to decide for myself how the A-Sun and Sun Belt compared in basketball. Collectively the Sun Belt went 3-2 against A-Sun teams this year. RPI rankings among Sun Belt teams range from 45 to 294, while the A-Sun ranges from 109 to 318. The SB has 3 teams with RPI's under 100 and only 2 teams over 200. The A-Sun has 5 between 100 and 200 and the rest being between 200 and 300 with the exception of Campbell. One web site has the SB ranked as the 13th best conference by RPI while the A-Sun is 26th. While the SB typically only has one team in the tournament, they could potentially have two or three this year. Arkansas-Little Rock has an RPI of 45 while UL Lafayette and Western Kentucky are 50 and 54 respectively. I think we all know however, that some team from a power conference with a .500 conference record will get in over them. In my opinion, the SB is better but not by leaps and bounds. They appear to be a little top heavy. I believe if the athletic dept. makes a commitment to basketball we can compete for the SB title in three or four years.
