Town folk and student embarrass Mr. Ho. 315 at game versus Aubie. No care if it fencing or archery, more than 315 people need show up.

No one read this board though so who care?

I agree, but the softball complex can't hold much more than that. I thought the attendance tonight was pretty good. Considering that softball unfortunately isn't one of the "big watch" sports.

A better topic would be how about the terrible, and inexplicably gross umpiring tonight. That was garbage. I want to know how that guy got his umping card.

we blame the officiating.

Yes this time it was the officiating that played a MAJOR factor. Were you at the game?
Because I was, and the umpire behind the plate blew a several calls that would have helped us out tremendously.

For instance: Bottom 6, 3-1 count, bases juiced,we are at bat. "Ball Four" is pitched and crosses the plate above our batter's letters. She makes it half-way down to first before he calls it a strike.

When the head coach of any sport is complaining to the ump or ref about their decisions, then obviously there is something to that.

Not to mention his balls for Auburn were strikes against Troy. IF you were not there, then you can't make a statement like that. If you were, then you weren't paying attention.

For once...I agree with TSE...

1.) The crowd was actually pretty good...considering the bleachers were full, and many had to stand up on the hills...

and...

2.) The officiating was HORRIBLE....I don't see how that ump got out of there without getting beat up. The pitch that should've walked the tieing run in...was almost in the dirt... "STRIKE 2!!!" grrr!

I agree. I enjoyed the game. The ump was terrible. Granted, we did get 2 errors in one inning AGAIN (same thing happened with Alabama last week) that allowed 2 runs to score (except last week, I think it allowed 3 or 4). We can't blame it all on the ump, but he definitely messed us up late in the game.

I was pretty impressed with the crowd seeing as it's not a sport that typically draws a huge crowd. People stuck it out to the end, which surprised me as well.

The crowd at the baseball game seemed like it was a little low compared to the last few games, though.

Mr. Ho, lay down the peace pipe and look at what your saying, 315 people at the softball game is bad? That is a great crowd!! I visited many of the softball games when i was there and we were lucky if 50 showed up, so 315 is a great crowd - not a bad one.

No, that's not a bad crown at all for softball. There were not too many more in Dothan for the Wiregrass Classic when Troy played Iowa and Ohio State.

Yes, there are some schools that will pack in 15,000 people for baseball, but we are not one of them. Our programs are growing and in time we will be in good shape. Crowds follow success, so just give it time.

THANKYOU Troygirl!
Regardless of how bad the UMP was we lost b/c of an errors commited by the team not because the officiating was bad.

(I think I got it right that time)

Closer...what was the deciding factor of the game was the bad illegal pitch call against Jocelyn.

Now I normally wouldn't fret over that since that is something that is entirely left at the discretion of the ump. However, after the game I talked with several people that said, the reason Howren was so upset about it was because she had already given the sign a framed up the pitch.

Jocelyn nods her head on every pitch it is a part of her timing mechanism. I also found out that the same ump behind the plate against Auburn, called the same type illegal pitch against Jocelyn earlier this season at the Ole Miss tourney.

So factored in I think that in this case, regardless of the errors, the ump blew calls at times when we were mounting a comeback. Which doesn't mean he threw the game, it means that it hurt us when we needed him to be on his best game at the most important times.

Well TSE, aren't you the busy little reporter!

As previously stated though...you cannot put all blame on the officiating...
We left HOW MANY stranded runners? like 10? How many errors? 3??

Take those away, and we should've won...even with the crappy officiating...

Same goes for the game against U of Alabama...take away those errors...Troy probably wins...
