Trojans 60
Campbell 56
Wow. What an ending. Quite scary there for a few minutes. That was way too close.
Did anyone else listen?

I listened and you are right, it was way too close! Glad to get a win on the road even if it was against Cambell. It was hard to listen with all the fouls that were called (total of 40).
I guess this coming weekend will tell the story for this season.
Oh yeah, UCF went down to Jacksonville in OT 83-82. :)

We're going to have to bring our A-game when Jacksonville comes here this week!

FAU is playing well. They beat Jacksonville.
What a crazy year.
We need four wins to finish out and then we still can't finish at .500. That stinks.
Oh well, get in and win the tourney and then shock the world!
Go TROY!

Trojans hold off pesky Camels, 60-56
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – A hot first half proved to be just enough for the Troy University men’s basketball team to hold off a pesky Campbell in a tough, 60-56, Atlantic Sun Conference win at Carter Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Corey Hornsby scored a team-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds, while sophomore Jonathan Lee added a season-high 14 points to lift the Trojans (10-15, 8-8 A-Sun) to their first win in the last five games and their 14 win in as many tries against the Camels (2-21, 0-16 A-Sun).
Troy forced 22 turnovers and led by as many as 13 in the second half, but the Camels, who have lost seven of eight home games by less than seven points, pulled to within one with 1:37 left before three free throw, one by senior Ryan Heck and two by senior Eddie Baker, put the game out of reach.
“Corey was the difference in the first half, and Jonathan came off of the bench and hit some big shots for us,” Troy head coach Don Maestri said. “This was a big win for us to win in a tough environment. Campbell has been close so many times, eventually they are going to get one.”
Lee was a catalyst in the Trojans’ early success, draining four 3-pointers in five attempts in the first half. Hornsby also started the game off on fire, scoring 11 of his points on 4-of-6 shooting in the first 20 minutes.
Campbell was led by Ruell Pringle, who scored a game-high 17 points, 13 of which came in the second half. Comerlee Poole was the Camels only other player in double figures with 11 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
Troy senior Eddie Baker added nine for Troy, while Junior Bobby Dixon, who had scored in double figures in the last 12 games, scored a season-low two points on just 1-of-7 shooting.
The Trojans never trailed in the game and pulled out by as many as 12 in the first half, before maintaining a 42-31 advantage at intermission.
The Camels switched to a zone defense in the second half and saw great improvement, holding the Trojans to just 18 points and just 6-of-27 shooting. It would be the Trojans’ defense that would hold off the Camels and not allow them to win the game, however.
Campbell had a shot to tie the game in the final seconds, but a 15-foot jumper from Russ Gibson fell short and into the hands of Baker, who went to the line to extend a two-point lead to the deciding four.
The Trojans improved on the glass after being outrebounded in the last four games by an average of over 23 rebounds. Ranked last in the A-Sun in rebounds, Troy held its own on Saturday, being outrebounded just 36-26.
The Trojans now move into a tie with Stetson for eighth place in the A-Sun, which sends the top eight teams to the A-Sun Tournament in March. Troy has just four games left on the schedule, including two home games next weekend with Jacksonville and Stetson. The Trojans face Jacksonville on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in the A-Sun Game of the Week, which will be televised on CSS.

We need for some other games to go our way as well. The two today did, and I'll be watching the ones Thursday hoping that the right teams will win to improve our standings. Of course, we've got to do our part against Jacksonville Friday. EVERYONE BE THERE!!!!

Kinda dumb how the game is at 6:30...considering the baseball game starts at 8...no way the basketball game will be over by 8...

No offense, but the baseball season has just started and those games last for 4 hours....The basketball team is fighting for their lives and they are on TV Friday night! Watch the basketball game and then catch the baseball game in the middle of the second inning. Make it a night for hoops and long ball!

But I know the basketball game is at 6:30 because of CSS TV. We are the A-Sun game of the week, so we have to play then. Plus, any earlier and I would have a hard time making it!! I'm looking forward to both games Friday!
