GW beat us pretty good in the first half and we couldn't recover in the 2nd half. Looks like we're ending the conference season like we opened it--with a dud. But, hey...we ought to be great next season!!!
Of course, we still have a shot at making the tourney--who knows--all you need is 3 wins in March and you're in.

This sucks, dropping three games in a row to go from number 2 in the conference to number 9 in the conference. If things keep progressing, we won't even make the conference tournament unless we start doing some damage. If we don't make conference tournament, I will be devestated.

This team appears to be unable to rebound (we got killed again on the boards).
Falling behind so badly concerned me, then they came back but just didn't have enough in the tank.
It's painful.

We used to be able to win comebacks, but the last 3 games we have fallen short. And yes, our lack of rebounds is KILLING us!

At first, I thought it was just a height thing. That is part of it--we have a very short team overall. But the last few games I have watched over and over how we do not get in position on the defensive end. When we are on defense, someone has to block out and get position. We don't do that. I don't think they know how to block out. I thought I'd never say this, but I think we miss Jeffcoat. Anyone know how he is doing?

Don't worry, its our last year in this conference, so we should dominate the sun belt! Wait, we'll have to play Western Kentucky? UL-Monroe? MTSU? uh-oh.

IS ULM moving to the Belt in BBall? They are currently in the Southland Conference. Don't forget UALR, ULL, Denver, New Orleans, and ASU. Those are all good basketball programs. All of which are much better than the teams we are playing in the ASun. Oh yeah, North Texas isn't too bad either.
The team is much better now than it was in November, but it's still in no way ready for the Sun Belt. That said, I think in a few short years Troy will be playing for a conference championship. It's going to take a lot of work and effort, and I think Maestri will get the job done.

We'll get more exposure, that's for sure. And that should help out recruiting, IF we can show that we give a crap about our team. Have we ever filled up our basketball arena? Its sad, because I enjoy going to the Basketball games, and the more people we get to go, the better the atmosphere will be. Unless it was like the UCF game, in which we sat behind some old ladies. We were getting crazy and they just looked afraid!

I was scanning some (MAC?) board the other night and was surprised to read that the SunBelt is only a one-bid NCAA basketball conference - that no at-large bid has gone to the 'Belt in years. Is that true? If so, how can this be much of a step up for us?
