Sun Belt working toward more postseason opportunities (http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/13445/sun-belt-working-toward-more-postseason-opportunities)

By Graham Watson

For the first time since the Sun Belt Conference formed in 2001, the conference could have three teams with seven or more wins.

Troy and Middle Tennessee both have seven wins heading into this weekend and Louisiana-Monroe is bidding for its seventh win this weekend against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Itís a huge step forward for the youngest FBS league. The Sun Belt Conference is likely to send three teams to bowl games this year, the most the conference has ever sent to the postseason.

I had no idea how the guaranteed bowl alliances were determined. That was news. Unfortunately for the Sun Belt to become eligible for 3 guaranteed bowls, La-La has to win out (which means beating us) and La-Mo win their last game. Hope we stay at 2 for one more year!!

Notre Dame to the GMAC Bowl, OH HOW THE ONCE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN!!!

Great Job by Watson again. She keeps the Belt relevant, that is for sure.

Mobile officials would pee their pants if Notre Dame were to come to town. They'd be doing the happy dance all over the place, because no school travels like Notre Dame fans and alumni travel.

Actually while there are a number of teams that travel well. Norte Dame still has fans all across the country. Still a good number of catholics who enjoy football root for the Golden Domers. Nebraska is probably one of the all time best travel teams as far as fans although many others come to mind.

It would be hard for me to believe that ND would go to such a "lowly" bowl as the GMAC. Didn't they turn down offers a couple years back when they were bowl eligible?

Give the Sun Belt 15 years and if we are still in it, it will become a stronger conference than CUSA
