What's going on, I was very disappointed in the turn out last night, I don't think they even ran out of the bubbleheads. The side the students sit on had a large amount, a lot of students stand, and they had the band concerts last night that took a lot of students. The other side was haft empty and what's up with the reserve seating. The red seats are half empty at every game. Are those tickets sold? I really do not understand the seating in the red seats they are never full, neither are the black chair back seats can someone please explain that situation. We need more support from the community!!!

I don't know what was going on in the community last night.

I do know that I heard several students talking about going to Mardi Gras, and I know some more that went to Jacksonville. I don't think the turn-out was as good as expected...not even close, actually.

I do, however, think the decision to hand out bobbleheads last night was made prior to our loss at UCF that caused this game to be a little "bigger."

I personally thought the atmosphere was good last night. Students were standing. We didn't wait until the last 5 minutes of the game to do the "defense" cheer. I thought as far as interaction, it went pretty well. There just weren't as many people there as we all hoped there would be.

I don't think that we can expect a packed croud with the record we have this year. Also, UCF doesn't have a great record either. Last year, both teams were at the top of the conference.

Yes, there was a Mardi Gras trip planned by someone in the international department. That was open to all students.

There was also the annual HS band festival on campus. That is set for this weekend of every year. That pretty much absorbed most of the band students that would have been there.

I thought that the atmosphere was the best since the Missouri game though, so I'm not complaining about that.

I wasn't complaining, sorry if it came off the way, I am a student also and FRED we were talking about last night how u were on the refs especially when you took the megaphone from the cheerleader. :!: The atmosphere was great!!! What gets me is the seats closes to the court are always half full. Think how loud the place would be if the red seats surround the court were full.

I wish we could fill up the red seats as well.

I don't know how long they've been there, but I did notice the banners hanging up over the pep band/backcourt posse section. People have been talking about wanting to get them, yet no one has commented on them since the game last night. I'm glad they're up though.

I noticed the new banners for the first time last night too....nothing special- just new.

I think the bobbleheads were given out as incentive to attend the game, no one wants us having 100 folks there when the game is on TV.

Markus and I talked briefly last night about how terrible it is to have the students hanging from the rafters, especially when the "red seats" are always half empty. I watch my "other basketball team" - and see how much the Cameron Crazies bring to Duke home games. Then I just shake my head thinking how much of a difference we could make next to the floor. But the almighty alumni and supporters would get their underwear up their cracks about it I'm sure.

It's something that HAS to be addressed. We've got to get the students in the lower section. Even if the students only get 1/2 or 1/4 or one of the lower sections--it has to happen. With all the empty seats in the red section every game I'm embarrassed. If you aren't going to show..don't buy the ticket--or at least donate them to students who would love to sit there and make noise. Maybe there oculd be a lottery for students to get those seats if they can only open up 100 or so. It would make a huge difference.

I love the idea, and I would be first in line for the chance at the good seats. Inevitably however, some one would tell a student to stop cheering so loudly or to sit down.

I will explain, in full detail an incident last night involving fans asking me to sit down. That's for another time. I'm trying to resolve some things there first before I comment on that.

Needless to say I wasn't happy!

Are you upset that I took the megaphone??? :D The cheerleader gave it to me!!! Of course, one of the female cheerleaders (not a big fan of me in the first place) told him not to let me have it again. It was quite funny.

Markus...I saw some of that. I never have been fond of the executor of that request.

In fact, he was as nice and polite as he could be. He was put in a very bad spot and I don't blame him personally. I have a problem with the people making the request and the expectation that people are entitled to see the game when they're sitting on their rear and not cheering. That is ridiculous...but again, I'll explain more later.

Have you noticed the red seats in the Stadium Club during football games? Same thing - lots of empties.

Troy needs to convince those who aren't going to use their expensive seats to donate them to students who will make use of them ... or maybe the owners could call the ticket office a day or two before each game and allow the tickets to be resold for that game, doubly profiting Troy.

Even at the Missouri game, it was not crowded in our area (45 yard line) of the Stadium Club. Not acceptable.

NO FRED we were cheering you on!!! We were like there goes Fred good job, I have and idea. How about we give the students one side of the red seats and put all the season tickets holders on the other side that way season ticket holders get there side and students fill up one side!!!!

D1Trojan4U

that sounds like the best idea yet....season ticket holders still get their seats, and dedicated students would have a place to feel like they can be involved in the game as one unified student body. (one can hope) Furthermore, I dont think that the upper level seats are bad ones- for those that want to see the game but not cheer. and even if students were standing, I think you could still see the game.
