2010 looks to be a major turning point in the history of Troy University. Three main factors in this will transform Troy, Alabama into much more of a college town the university deserves. These three investments, CGI, The New Airport, and the New Basketball Arena** are pivitol to the already booming growth of Troy University.

**The new multi-purpose Convocation Center hopes to be open for the 2011-2012 basketball season, but can already be used as a recruiting tool.

Other new things in 2010-2011:

Brand New Fraternity Houses
Renovations for Bibb Grave Hall
The Confucius Institute at Troy University (CIT)
New Dining Facility
New Choral Facility

"After considering several locations for new fraternity housing, Troy University has picked a destination—and one that won’t have any different impacts on local residents. Beginning in August, Troy University will level the current fraternity houses on Pell Avenue and construct a new Fraternity Village."

"A new school year means new renovations at Troy University. The university officially broke ground on the first major renovation of historic Bibb Graves Hall. It's been more than 30 years since the school had a groundbreaking. The renovation will add more than 40,000 square feet to the building. The expanded space will include additional classrooms with upgraded technology, computer labs, large open student lounge areas and an auditorium with more than 250 seats. The renovation will also include a new wing along the back of the building that will house the university’s center for International Business and Economic Development and the Confucius Institute. The renovation was funded in part by $8 million dollars in bond money secured by Governor Bob Riley."

It continues to amaze me to see how quickly things are growing at the university. It's also nice to see the town starting to grow some too.

In the next few years, TROY will look nothing like the TROY that I graduated from. I love it!
