I found another reason to be glad we are leaving this stupid conference. I just happen to look at out schedule and we play home on Monday, away on Wednesday. What kind of schedule is that, right after a game you have to pack up and leave, that does not even give you time to practice and rest. Look at the Sun Belt Schedule South Alabama plays on the road on Thursday and Saturday get five days off and play at home on January 27/29 which is a Thursday/Saturday. Yes it is stilling one day in between but THEY DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL. I have never seen a conference make you play a home game (late home game) then half to leave and go play in less than 48 hours. Maybe I am reading to deep but that just seems stupid too me.

I can't remember the specifics, but I remember that our schedule last year was AWFUL. It seems like we had 4 games in one week last year and thats what was so annoying, but I'm not sure.

Troy basketball players will have either been playing or on the road and away from classes 4 straight Monday nights because of the A-Sun. What a screwed-up conference to keep kids away from classes like that--and they dare to say they're promoting student-athletes!
And it makes me crazy that we play Friday night games instead of Saturday games in this joke of a league. Friday nights is for high schools and the Patriot league. Enough said.

Since Troy has been a member of Division One in basketball, our conference schedules have always been bad from a standpoint of rest in between games. The Mid-Con was every bit as brutal as the A-Sun. We did, however, have fewer Friday games in the Mid-Con than we currently have in the A-Sun. I can recall a few occasions where I missed four days of class in a single week due to travel in the Mid-Con. The Sunbelt will hopefully be a much less burden on the classroom.

Face facts -- now that we are about to leave the A-Sun, this is Bill Bibb's way of giving us the shaft. This sort of thing is exactly the reason that so many good programs have defected or are about to. We don't even have a travel partner. Screw 'em -- we are almost out of the Setting Sun.

Hector, I know you and I have had our differences, but I wanted to congratulate you guys on your big win over Mercer to get back into the league race.
I only hope that either you guys or UCF (I notice you guys aren't getting along)wins the league on your way out as a parting shot to the league.
One thing though, with 11 teams in the league, somebody has to be without a travel partnet and you guys don't have anyone that can really work as a travel partner in the league.
I know you guys are pissed about it, but it's the presidents fault for not keeping the teams at an even number in the league. Bibb is willing to let anyone in the league that wants to come and the presidents just jump in.
You think you guys have it bad, think about the private schools that are staying in the league having to deal with Kennesaw (great BKB), East Tenn. (great BKB) on a yearly basis. Those schools don't have a prayer against those two teams.
I do hope that you guys continue your improvement and make a run at the title. Good luck.
