CBS hasn't officially announced his participation, but all of the Survivor fan sites have Bobby Jon listed as being on this season's show that airs in February.

So weird that I mentioned him while we were on our trip. My only question, where were these people when I was at school? My husband swears I've met him and that he's a really nice guy, but I cannot remember it for the life of me. You would think that I could recall someone who looks like that. I only remember one model guy in my English Lit class who was totally fine but dumb as a bag of rocks and it wasn't Mr. Drinkard.

Is he the same guy that was in a magazine a few years ago? I guess it was at least 2 years ago. I don't remember the name, but that sounds about right.

There was another guy who became a model at Troy about the time I was there but I can't remember his name for the life of me.
D, Jenn has a great story about going to one of her art classes on the first day and everyone had to get up and say their name and introduce themselves. Of course, being skinny and shaggy Jenn had her eyes glued to him. When it's his turn to speak he stands up and out of that beautiful mouth comes "Hi my name's Bobby Jon and I'm from Goshen, Alabama" in the worst southern drawl you'll ever hear. Jenn says she nearly hit the floor laughing.

Wow, it's a small world. I actually met Bobby Jon a few years ago at a friends house. He seemed like a nice guy, but he did seem quiet. Probably because he didn't know many people. Anyway, he was getting help with his homework from one of my friends.

WTF?!? Dang, SB, I thought I had married the hottest guy from Goshen! Oh well, first runner up isn't that bad.

TROY graduate filling passport thanks to Survivor
From the halls of Troy University to the streets of Los Angeles to the jungles of a South Pacific island paradise, Troy native Bobby Jon Drinkard’s passport is getting crowded.
Drinkard, who earned a degree in print journalism and public relations from TROY in 2003, has added the islands of Palau to his collection of passport stamps that include Italy and France. The reason for his latest journey: as a contestant on CBS’s Survivor, set to begin Feb. 17.
Named Cosmopolitan magazine’s most eligible bachelor for Alabama in 2003, Drinkard has traveled to cities such as Milan, Paris and Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career, but now plans to shift his focus back to the southeastern United States and finding a job more suited to his college degree.
“Traveling to cities like these was a great learning experience,” Drinkard said. “But now, I’m getting ready to use my degree from Troy University and get a job somewhere in the Southeast.”
“I just like it better in the South,” said Drinkard. “People just seem more grounded here. They know what they want.”
Waiting around for someone to call isn’t on this graduate’s list, however. He’s keeping his options open, but hopes to land a job with a sports organization or perhaps an outdoor magazine.
“I’m looking into a few options,” he said.
When the show airs, Drinkard said he’d be headed back to Los Angeles to “tie up loose ends.”
"I’m not going to sit around with my fingers crossed and wait for something to good to happen,” he said. “You have to make your own windows of opportunity in life.”
Bound by a strict contract with CBS, Drinkard will be unable to comment about his experiences on Survivor until the show ends.
He is a 1995 Charles Henderson High School graduate, and while a student at the University was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and worked in a lawn care business.
