Great addition to Troy. Now, bring on the swim and equestrian teams.

Seriously.

This is a great idea, but from what I read it will not be sponsored by the athletic department of the NCAA, which means is it like intramurals or something? I would love for the university to add sports, but I don't think this one has been added to the official list of athletics.

Its a club team just like most schools have. Most club sports have their own national governing body that organizes national championships. Troy is the only school I know of that doesn't have club teams, even most D-III schools have them. Now to get a rugby club, men's soccer club, and lacrosse club and will be on par with schools a lot smaller than us.

While I agree with you that we need to up our club sports, we have some of the best and most dedicated intramural sports anywhere. Having a ruby or lacrosse club would be awesome! We have a Cricket "Club/Team" at our United Arab Emirates campus!

If this wrestling outfit at Troy resembles the kind of freestyle chaos that's in the link below, then I'll buy front row seats.
