just went to the official Troy site...the education one and yeesh. Still has Troy State all over the place, then when you go to the athletics site it takes you to troystate.com. Not sure who we need to email or a talk to but we need to take care of this in a hurry. :(

The new www.troy.edu website is in the process of being designed and will be launched in January. The name of the school can not be changed on the current web site because SACS (our accrediating agency) has to bless the name change and they meet in December to do that. Because the web site is an official document of the university, it can not be changed until we receive the blessing from SACS.

I understand your frustration, but these things take time. Unfortunately we can not just flip a switch to make the change. If that were the case, I would definitely be in favor of it, because trust me I see a lot of sleepless nights in the near future for me and the other web coordinators at Troy.

The name change will not be official until August of 2005. This is a transition phase. Now, I don't agree will the way it is being done, but I am just an underling that dosen't matter.
